The excitement is building as construction on two new elementary schools is progressing on time and on budget. You can see the progress at the Herriman elementary site, located at approximately 12420 S 5600 West, where the footings are in place and the foundation has been poured. At the South Jordan elementary site, located at approximately 10200 S. 5150 West, the foundation has been poured along with block walls rising quickly. The construction costs are about 17% less than previous elementary schools thanks to efficiencies that will not compromise instructional space for students. This is a cost savings to our stakeholders.
Remember, if you frequently travel through or around the construction sites, be aware that there will be an increase in activity as crews now begin work on sewer, water, power and gas at the new schools.
